What is Jiuj Bejinuj? - "A Smile in Education"
It is an editorial project that aims to provide material to Spanish-speaking Jewish children, in order to encourage the habit of reading, according to the values of Our Torah.
Why is Jiuj Bejinuj necessary?
The modern era is causing a fracture in the relationship of our children with "THE BOOK."
One of the factors that gives rise to this problem is that parents do not find in the market, material that they believe is suitable to promote education in a comprehensive way, which combines literature with our Judaic values.
When the outside world proposes a system of immediate results, of mass consumption of finished products, of almost incessant noise, it leaves out the possibility of traveling the path of self-construction.
Our publishing house, through its publications, aims to promote reading that makes the child the protagonist. The power to imagine and feel what is read are the basic tools that create the habit of reading, teaching one to experience a moment of calm and enjoyment.
We firmly believe that each page read is an investment in the education of our successors.
How does Jiuj Bejinuj finance its projects?
Through donations from companies or individuals.
The Spanish-speaking Jewish market still does not generate a demand that allows the editorial process to be self-sustained, which is why we resort to the collaboration of people committed to education.
Their donations are used for the creation, purchase of rights, translation, assembly, printing and distribution of the material that will reach thousands of Spanish-speaking children. It should be noted that the publisher makes a profit from its work, since in order to achieve quality material, constant and qualified work is necessary in each of its areas.
How does Jiuj Bejinuj distribute the material?
The contribution of the benefactors allows the material to be distributed completely free of charge in institutions of our educational network, at no cost to them.
How can I cooperate and be part of the project?
If you are a professional in any area related to pedagogy and you have proposals that are in line with our motto and objective "Training children as readers", you have your place within our project.
Or if you are venturing into writing stories for children, or you are an amateur illustrator and you believe that your material has already achieved the maturation process to be published, you have your place within our project.
Or if you are dedicated to the translation of texts, either from English or Hebrew, and you believe that you have found a text that could be of interest within the community framework, you have your place within our project.
If you are a parent who feels the need to give your child material designed especially for him/her, and you are willing to make an investment, so that other children can also obtain it, you have your place within our project.
